    Abstract

    In the model approach for the Southern Peel Area actual evapotranspiration is needed for two main reasons: to serve as an input of the water balance of the unsaturated zone in the calculation of saturated groundwater flow; to serve as an input for the erop production model. From steady state solutions of moisture flow in soils it can be derived that their exist a relationship between height of capillary rise above the groundwater table and soil moisture pressure head at differ!'nt fluxes of upward flow,
