Abstract

This business plan has been prepared for local entrepreneurs who would like to expand their business portfolio or to start an agricultural value chain business in the potato sector in the region of Tete. The four-year business plan intends to create a locally produced and branded ware potato value chain in Tete. Today, white skinned varieties such as Mondial and Sifra appeal to a large segment of the population in Tete. However, while some other white skinned varieties are being produced locally in the region, these are of little interest for the retail market. To meet their needs, supermarkets and caterers in the region of Tete are importing Mondial and Sifra from South Africa.
