Abstract

The present invention describes a protein having laccase activity. This protein is derived from Botrytis cinerea, which is a common fungal grapevine pathogen. The protein it was found to convert resveratrol into fungitoxic compounds. According to the invention the laccase can be used to protect plants against animal and microbial pests
