    Abstract

    Almost half of Dutch piglet exports go to Germany. Germany is an important market, both in terms of the size of the sector and in terms of distance, quality requirements and market price. In order to stand up to the increasing competition in the market close to the Netherlands, the opportunities for improvements in sales to Germany were examined. Communication and even more attention devoted to the health of the piglets are important action items for the Dutch pig sector.
