Abstract
As part of the NL Next Level manure valorization project, research has been carried out into emissions, mass balances and costs for various manure processing options on cattle farms. An emission model and a mass balance and cost estimate for manure processing have been drawn up for this purpose. Scenarios have been calculated, mainly looking at different housing systems (faster manure removal, emission-reducing measures and separation of urine and faeces) in combination with and without manure processing, and their effects on ammonia and greenhouse gas emissions from excretion of manure to the application of manure products.
