    Abstract

    The paper discusses the results of a round robin experiment initiated by the participants to "EUROLIGNIN", an EC network, meant at standardizing thermogravimetry as an useful method for the thermal characterization of lignins obtained from different sources or by different extraction methods. Five laboratories from five countries took part in the experiment, the reached conclusion being that thermogravimetry is a suitable method for the determination of the moisture and ash content, thermal and thermo-oxidative stability, and also that DTG curves should be regarded as thermal spectra for lignin identification.
