Abstract
Agricultural entrepreneurs from 7 sectors – dairy farming, pig farming, poultry farming, veal farming, arable farming, floriculture and outdoor vegetable production – are negative about the current manure policy, but want to continue to comply and consider manure policy important. In particular dairy farmers recognise that the goal of the manure policy is to improve water quality, although they consider water quality to be important. Participants argue for better communication about manure policy, involvement of entrepreneurs, integrated policy, soil type and crop-specific manure policy, and goal management. The research is based on 7 short interviews, a survey (completed entirely by 379 and partially by 349 entrepreneurs) and 7 focus groups with 3-8 entrepreneurs per sector.
