Abstract
What would be the outcome of different scenarios both aimed at feeding the Europeanpopulation in a global context in the year 2100? The first, (Greentopia) would be ademocratic system aimed at food security in a sustainable way, making use of optimalproduction areas in- and outside Europe based on trade and individual choices. Thesecond scenario (Efficientopia) foresees a dictator-like society completely focused onproviding exactly the required nutrients to the population on an individual basis,requiring full control of the population and food production based on nutrient yield andprocessing into food pellets. In both systems, the avocado may disappear from themenu.
