Abstract
Per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) pose a food safety risk to circular food systems. Understanding how PFAS transport in different tissues of food crops is essential for risks assessment.
However, models describing time-dependent PFAS uptake and translocation across plant tissues remain limited.
To address this gap, we present a time-dependent compartmental model to quantify uptake and translocation of perfluoroalkyl carboxylic acids (PFCA) in hydroponically grown tomato plants.
