The elaboration of a crop growth model for pot plant production which takes account of the physiological processes controlling growth and yet is suitable for management purposes is described. The parameters of the model are specified for <i>Schefflera arboricola </i>cv. Compacta using previously published data. An example is given to demonstrate the application of the model and the value and potential of the model are discussed.
