In this study the relationship between the information society and participation society within the creation of collective and public value is central. In this research, new forms of value creation that are driven by social innovation and digital innovation are analyzed. The focus is on concrete examples of value creation that occur in interaction with new digital information or data streams. The research focuses on recognizing the relationship and tension between collective and public value creation, and on how value creation is linked with eg. open or closed data information sharing.
