Description
The Ministries of Economic Affairs and Infrastructure and Environment aim at restoration of shellfish reefs, in particular European oysters in the North Sea. In addition, creation of shellfish reefs near the Haringvliet is one of the objectives of a project of Nature Conservation Organisations. Which locations in the Voordelta are suitable for pilot experiments for the creation of self sustaining shellfish reefs? For this, locations will be selected based on information on exposure, depth, current speed, salinity, sediment composition, presence of other shellfish and predators and boundary conditions for permits.
