Description
The Trans-SONIC project (Transport Self-Organization through Network Integration and Collaboration), a joint project of Erasmus University Rotterdam, TU Delft, Wageningen University, TNO, Ecorys and SmartPort, yielded interesting results for the freight transport sector. Using interviews, surveys, and a serious game, the role of trust and the effects of platformization in transport organization was researched (TUD, WUR). Using the Intermodal Links Database of Ecorys analytics tools were developed that show the effects of emergent behavior in the European hinterland transport network during disruptions (EUR, WUR). Finally, TNO developed prototypes of smart contracts and Blockchain-ledgers to enable internet-speed collaboration in transport networks.
