Toekomst hout (t2 + NAPRO) (BO-11-012-043)

Project: LNV project

Project Details

We expect an increase in future demand for woody
biomass, due to the Renewable Energy Directive and possibly also due to
developments in the chemical sector. The Netherlands is largely dependent on
imports, but at the same time puts a high emphasis on the Bioeconomy. It is
very important to realise what effects the increased demand has on trade flows,
on the environment as a whole and on nature conservation in particular, but
also what opportunities this development might bring. This project supports the
development of an action plan for Forest in the Bioeconomy. A scenario study
will show consequences of different developments and possible actions. Results
will be presented during stakeholder meetings, but also in other meetings.
Furthermore, results will be made available to a wider audience through an
Alterra report and articles in different national and international journals.
