The influence of farmer behaviour on the effectiveness of vaccination and biosecurity in controlling Avian Influenca

Project: PhD

Project Details

Description

The project investigates the behavioural and economic factors influencing poultry farmers’ willingness to vaccinate and adopt biosecurity measures in response to highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI). Using behavioural-economic and social-psychological frameworks, the research will apply a choice experiment survey among duck farmers in France and poultry farmers in the Netherlands. The results will inform a risk assessment model to evaluate how vaccination schemes impact biosecurity compliance and HPAI outbreak risk.
