Project Details
Description
Water-driven soil erosion occurs due to a synergy of natural and anthropogenic pressures on natural resources, and causes on and off- site problems. Development, successful implementation and monitoring of soil erosion prevention and remediation strategies on the watersheds, however, demands high technical, financial and management investments. In this study, a holistic, not well-studied, and reduced complexity approach that integrates remote sensing, lacustrine delta development, and field work datasets will be utilized to explore the integration of hillslope- and gully erosion processes at landscape scale in northern Ethiopia to assist integrated watershed management practices through a thorough understanding of the erosion processes.
