Sustainable polymers from lignocellulosic and agricultural wastes

Project: PhD

Project Details

Description

My research focuses on transforming biomass into advanced nanomaterials—particularly nanocellulose—through green chemistry principles. A central part of my work is an innovative one-pot treatment method that integrates the removal of non-cellulosic components with surface modification of cellulose, resulting in nanofibrillated cellulose with improved colloidal stability. I further explore how these nanocellulose structures can be assembled and entangled across different dimensions to create high-performance materials. Ultimately, these nanocellulose-based materials are developed for medical applications such as antimicrobial coatings and tissue engineering.
