Sustainable Business Opportunities at Sea (KB-14-011-041)

Policymakers, researchers and companies have high expectations of Blue Growth. However, much is still uncertain about both the technical feasibility, economic impact and the impact on the ecosystem. It is uclear which activities will take place in the  Dutch seas, and what the impact is on the economy and nature. This study usescenario analysis to the question how  new activities at sea  will develop in the long-term  and what the consequences are for nature conservation at sea. The central question wass: What are the prospects for a sustainable commercial exploitation of coastal and sea? This question was adressed in consultation with expers (public, private, academic).
