Project Details
Description
The construction of offshore wind farms may impact fish populations and ntura 2000 areas. Especially the effects of piling on fish is relatively poor understood. Current policy on restricting piling to july-december is based on a precautionairy apporach in the absence on knowlegde on effects on fish larvae, where worst case models predict a significant effect. On sub-lethal injuries and damages caused by extreme piling sounds hardly nothing is known. Juvenile fish may be more susecptible due to the size of their swimblatter than fish larvae. In this project we study the effects of pile drinving sounds to juvenile sea bass.
