SMP23014 Circular Urban Farming - Singapore (BO-69-002-060)

The objective of this project is to explore opportunities for Controlled Environmental Agriculture (CEA) in Singapore to reduce energy consumption using an additional renewable energy source. This is done by collecting, analysing, and processing technical information both in the Netherlands and Singapore and use these to develop a business case. The business case will be used to form a strong international partner consortium for developing a Topsector PPS-application in 2023. This follow-up proposal will focus on the combined extraction of energy AND nutrients from food waste streams in Singapore. The long-term goal is to achieve circular CEA for the urban environment.
