The aim of the project is:
• To get information on the composition of wood vinegar (R&D)
• To try forward osmosis and reverse osmosis and determine how much water can be removed from the wood vinegar (R&D)
• Using the information above, get ideas to utilize the concentrated wood vinegar
• To create a consortium with at least German and Dutch partners to further develop the upgrading of wood vinegar and its application and market.
The final impact is the utilization of woody or lignocellulosic residues from agriculture and forestry as raw material for renewable materials, chemicals and energy. The impact of the seed money project
only is to gain knowledge and create a network to make this possible within a few years. It connects to the agenda of TKI Agriculture-Water-Food: the utilization of organic residue streams from agriculture, in particular lignocellulosic materials. In contributes to SDG 7 (affordable and clean energy) and SDG 13 (climate action).
