Description
This research will investigate several conservation interventions—including the novel approach of biodiversity offsetting—and their effectiveness at improving pollinator diversity and abundance in semi-natural habitats and agricultural landscapes. We aim to 1) quantify whether newly created biodiversity offsets are equivalent to valuable habitats destroyed due to infrastructure development, 2) develop a analytical methodology and framework that guides the appropriate placement and composition of conservation interventions in a landscape, and 3) determine if and how agri-environment schemes can maintain functional trait diversity.
