Role of plant species and soil management dependent grain quality in determining the quality of root-based fermentation

Project: PhD

Project Details

Description

This research aims to isolate, identify and characterize the root endosphere microbiomes of Rhychonsia insignis and Eminia holubii plants used in Munkoyo production. The microbial functionalities such as vitamin and mineral nutrients bioavailability, production organic acids, and aroma profiles which influence the beverage quality will be investigated. The impact of soil nutrient management on sorghum quality and its subsequent effect on Munkoyo quality will also be explored.
