Rol van bodemorganismen in bodemvruchtbaarheid bossen (HD3566) (BO-11-019.01-019)

Project: LVVN project

Project Details

Description

The forest soil for a large part determines way a forest functions as an ecosystem or production system. The soil holds water and nutrients, generates nutrients through weathering and mineralisation, and supplies plants and soil organisms with water and nutrients. The way this is all done determines for a great part which organisms can live in the forest soil and how they function. The functioning of these organisms on their turn influence their way the soil functions, for example through the organic matter they produce. This project will bring together knowledge from different disciplines in order to get an understanding of the way the functioning of forest soils can be influenced.
