Description
Currently, many stream restoration projects are being carried out in the Netherlands, commonly aiming at a more natural appearance and a better ecological state of streams. RiverCare is large research programme (submitted to STW) focussing on knowledge development for sustainable river management, including smaller streams. The RiverCare project in the KB14 programme has the following objectives:
- Connecting the science in the STW project RiverCare to stream restoration practice.
- Identifying the knowledge needed for application of 'Building with Nature' concepts in stream restoration.
- Identification of possible cases for application of 'Building with Nature' concepts in stream restoration.
