Description
This project aims to assess the possibilities for rice cultivation on peat soils in Northwest Europe. The cold tolerance and yield of different varieties will be assessed. It is also unknown yet what optimal management in this context is. Sustainability is also an important topic: what happens with greenhouse gas emissions and water use when grassland is converted to rice paddies?
