Project Details

Description

In the Dutch national nature vision 'business sites' are recognized as areas with numerous opportunities to develop more (natural) green at and surrounding the business buildings. Such green can both enhance working place quality and climate adaptation, as wildlife conservation value (esp. species of early-successional vegetation and flower-rich grassland). From the 3600 Dutch business sites only a small number has a structural attention for a natural green design (e.g. Heineken, Philips).

In this project the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Wageningen University & Research and several Dutch provinces work together to find ways to structurally pay attention to greening opportunities while (re)developing business sites. At the end of 2016 the project has a start-up, including elaborating an approach and visualizing which business sites are located nearby natural areas (making them more interesting for implementing conservation measures). The project will be finished at the end of 2017.
