Project: LVVN project

Project Details

Description

The overall aim of this project (2023 – 2025) is to contribute towards the longitudinal monitoring of trends and developments in and creation of new CLO-indicators for (1) citizens’ involvement with nature (policy) and (2) the state of the Dutch landscape. This monitoring is of key relevance to be able to describe trends and signal developments. The CLO-indicators offer insight and evidence for research, policy and the work of societal organizations.

To contribute towards this aim and the related knowledge needs, this projects strives to actualize available data; maintain and improve existing models and tools; improve and broaden the use of existing models; develop new indicators; and publish results in an accessible way on the CLO. The identification and prioritizing of knowledge needs with internal and external stakeholders that have access to relevant data also falls within the scope of this project.

This project largely progresses upon earlier studies. In 2024, the second project year the following activities are part of the project:

  • Elaboration of three MoNOVI-indicators
    • Agriculture in vulnerable areas
    • Nature inclusive development
    • Landscape-inclusive spatial policy
  • Analysis of results of a panel-survey for green volunteers; publication of findings in a WOt-report
  • Continuation of project activities to work towards a future-proof VIEWSCAPE (or an alternative model)
  • Update of CLO-indicator ‘visibility of windmills’ with the use of VIEWSCAPE (assuming the model will remain functional)
  • Preparation of the survey on public support for nature 2025
  • Finishing and submitting CLO-page ‘decision making on nature’

The results of these activities will be published in an accessible format if possible, in many instances on the Environmental Data Compendium (CLO).
