Novel shrimp feed to mitigate negative impacts of climate change

Project: PhD

Project Details

Description

Nutritional interventions in shrimp diets Global warming can create potential challenging conditions for shrimp farming. This project will focus on understanding (stress) responses of shrimp to challenging environmental conditions. It will look for nutritional interventions that can help shrimp to mitigate negative effects of challenging conditions. Nutritional interventions that can for example increase antioxidant capacity will be studied, which may assist shrimp to overcome both short-term and long-term stresses, thereby preventing production losses. This project will provide knowledge for shrimp farmers and feed companies to sustain the shrimp sector and satisfy future protein demand.
