Neither Here Nor There: A Critical Understanding of Locality in the Age of Planetary Technology

The project aims to develop a philosophical understanding of locality in the context of the planetary scale and function of today's technology. Using perspectives from phenomenology, philosophy of technology and posthumanism, the tension between the planetary scope and local, always-emplaced application of technology is investigated. The aim is to develop a new conceptualisation of locality that could guide future empirical research and technological design.
