Nederlandse bijdrage aan de ESEB (BO-20-015-002, BO-20-006-007)

This project concerns the Dutch participation, represented by LEI Wageningen UR, in the technical working group “European GMO Socio-Economics Bureau” (ESEB) in the period 2013-2016. This working group aims to provide better insight into the socio-economic aspects of gm crop production in the EU. In order to do so, it develops a methodological framework and applies it to several case crops, using data from the EU member states. The results are published in public reference documents.

By facilitating participation in the ESEB working group, the Dutch government pro-actively contributes to a transparent and consistent analysis and discussion of impacts and risks of GMOs. Moreover, participation in the working group strengthens the Dutch prominent knowledge position in this domain and stimulates knowledge exchange and interaction with other member states.
