Description
The Ministry of I&M prepares a MIRT programme (Meerjarenprogramma Infrastructuur, Ruimte en Transport) for the Ems-Dollard. This MIRT-programme carries out large-scale measures leading to ecological recovery of the estuary. The Ministry of EZ is responsible for the Integrated Management Plan (IMP) Eems-Dollard. In 2014 IMARES has made structered descriptions of 92 measures for ecological recovery of the Ems. Knowledge gaps have been identified and knowledge gaps have been reformulated into research questions. In 2015 IMARES is requested to extend their knowledge of the ecosystem into two ecological models. These models can then be used to quantify the effectivity of the proposed measures.
