Description

This project is about in vitro models mimicking the human intestinal tract to study host-microbe interactions at the mucosal layer. The first parts critically evaluates currently available and in vitro and in vivo models of the human gastrointestinal tract. The second part of the thesis focuses specifically on the interaction of Akkermansia muciniphila with mucin glycans in vitro.
