Project: LNV project

Project Details

Description

The Netherlands is developing national legislation to help Dutch companies to participate in deep sea mining projects in the high seas (areas beyond national jurisdiction, i.e. beyond EEZs). To reduce the potentially high impact on the deep sea environment and biodiversity due to mining, the Netherlands would like to take the lead to set international standards for deep sea mining technology. In this project we deliver an advice on the requirements that deep sea mining should fullfill to reduce the impact on biodiversity and environment.
