Project: LVVN project

Project Details

Description

The Mansholt Lectures, named after the famous Dutch European politician and thinker Sicco Mansholt, are organised by Wageningen University & Research (WUR) to discuss European policy and European issues in our domain of food, agriculture and sustainable livelihoods. During the annual Mansholt Lectures, WUR presents multidisciplinary visions on aspects of European policy and recommendations to adjust this policy. The policy visions and recommendations are discussed during a meeting with representatives of the scientific community, governments and the business community.

This study and related activities, are aimed at the multidisciplinary development of the Mansholt Lecture 2025 by different WUR researchers. The theme is sustainable competitiveness. Where possible, the study compares the EU with the US and China. It further analyses the main drivers and their role in explaining differences in competitiveness. Policy documents that at least will be considered are the Draghi Report and Eurocommissioner Christophe Hansen's Agricultural Vision.
