MANO PO: Managing the Nutritional Needs of Older Filipino with due attention to protein nutrition and functional health

Project: PhD

Project Details

Description

The Philippines is slowly shifting into an ageing society. While the role of nutrition is recognized across all age groups, there is a limited understanding of the role of diet - a modifiable factor - in the overall health and nutritional status of older Filipinos. The MANO PO project, a flagship research in the Philippines, will look into the overall nutrition profile and dietary pattern, the relationship of body composition with functional status, health and quality of life, and the role of dietary protein and physical activity in nutritional and functional outcomes of older Filipinos.
