Description
This project explores the relationship between gastrointestinal health and welfare in broilers. Gastrointestinal health is relevant for overall health and wellbeing and gastrointestinal problems are one of the most important health problems in broilers. The aim of this project is to evaluate the effect of welfare measures on gastrointestinal disease dynamics and resilience. In addition various tools for detecting health and welfare indicators will be assessed along with their practical applicability. The findings will contribute to the development of sustainable farming systems that promotes welfare and health in broilers.
