The LULUCF regulations (EU Decision 529/2013[1] and Regulation 841/2018[2]) indicate how greenhouse gas emissions from land use, land use change and forestry should be monitored and how this should be reported. The introduction and development of the method is done step by step and is differentiated for different parts of the land use, such as grassland and cropland, forest, wetlands and settlement. This project supports the government with the mandatory reporting under EU decision 529/2013 and the LULUCF regulation 841/2018 and implements method developments to enable future reporting for regulation 841/2018. Additionally it supports the Dutch government in providing insight into the consequences of the regulations for policy and vice versa what policy choices will mean for the reportable climate performance for the LULUCF categories.
