Description
Cultured meat (or lab-grown meat) is a potentially disruptive technology and therefore a threat for animal farmers and others in the meat producing chain. However, there are also signs that some traditional meat producers have an interest in new meat alternatives in general, and cultured meat in particular. In this project, we explore the question whether and how cultured meat might be an option for farmers (and others in the traditional meat chain). In focus groups and workshops, we explore various potential scenario’s.
The project has three rounds. The first round focuses on farmers, the second round also includes others in the chain, while the third round also involves policy makers and other stakeholders. The objective is to find out whether scenario’s can be found that are attractive to farmers (and other parties).
