KvM 2017-3: Economische kosten FSS India (BO-20-007-449)

Project: LVVN project

Project Details

Description

Despite important strides towards improving food safety in India bringing its food safety system up to acceptable standards will require substantive investments. These investments will largely need to come from the public budget, but are currently not yet reflected in India’s public funding priorities.  This project provides a rough estimate of the cost of not having an adequate food safety system in India to lift its importance and visibility in the public debate. The approximate estimate based on existing data and tools will be accompanied by a discussion on its probable accuracy and actions needed for a more accurate estimate.
