Dairy producers and crops producers are adopt management strategies that result in lower nutrient (N) and (P) losses to the environment. For crop producers its crucial to maintaine soil quality and soil fertility. In particular, maintaining the organic matter content and phosphate level in the soil requires attention. For land-based dairy farming the nutrient use efficiency should be enhances as much as possible and roughage production should be brought at a higher standard.Cooperation between livestock and arable and horticultural could be benifitial. It is important to recognize these opportunities. For future professionals in the dairy sector and horticulture, these prospects require specific insights in fertilization and nutrient mangement. This project aims to fulfill this need by bringing the knowledge to schools that train students for a future in these sectors. This is done in consultation with the education world.
