Project: EZproject

Project Details

Description

Early 2021, reporting took place, through the FAO WIEWS-system, on the Dutch implementation of FAO's Second Global Plan of Action for Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (period 2012-2019). This report will also be used for the compilation of FAO’s Third Report on the State of the World’s Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture, which is scheduled for publication in 2023. To make the information better available for Dutch stakeholders, a stand-alone national report (Country report on the state of plant genetic resources for food and agriculture) will be made, as in 1996 and 2008. On the  basis of the WIEWS report, a first version of the stand-alone rapport will be made, which will be supplemented and extended through consultations with stakeholders. The stand-alone national report will contain information on 18 indicators, divided over 4 main categories (in situ conservation and management, ex situ conservation, sustainable use, and capacity building on plant genetic resources for food and agriculture).
