Description
In this study an analysis was made of the distribution of the direct payments from the first pillar of the Common Agricultural Policy on agricultural holdings in the EU28. This distribution is rather unbalanced: in 2015, 81% of EU farmers received 20% of the direct payments. Farms that receive few payments usually have fewer hectares than farms that receive a large sum of payments. The unbalanced distribution of direct payments arises as the group of farmers with few hectares in the EU28 is much larger than the group with many hectares.
