Project Details
Description
The Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food security asks for a study on habitat characteristics and larval retention in five new wind farm locations and in other parts of the Dutch North Sea. With this they will gain insight in the relative suitability of these areas for restoration of the native flat oyster (Ostrea edulis). The approach is based on an earlier study by Smaal et al., 2017 and will deliver data on physical habitat characteristics and larval distribution, and the interpretation of these data for determination of suitability of the wind farm locations and the restoration techniques to be used.
