Description
There are several possibilities to reduce or eliminate the present stocks of SMP, including supplying these to the food market. Other options are selling SMP for feed (denaturized for human consumption) or use SMP in special aid programmes. Different stock reduction strategies are likely to have different impacts on dairy product markets. A central question of interest are the costs and benefits of different stock reduction strategies.
