Project Details
Description
To tackle Ash Dieback disease it is important to safe guard potentially resistant sources, before these disappear through large-scale cuttings. In June 2017, a website was launched to inventory diseased and healthy ash trees (www. Essentaksterfte.nu). This module together with a (professional) audience will help to monitor the spread of the disease. However Urgency is needed, before important opportunities for securing potential resistant material are missed. The aim of this project is to scale up monitoring, analysis and communication on the spread of the disease and the presence of potentially resistant sources. This will be done through a number of activities such as analysis of sightings/inventory data, writing news reports, improvement of www.essentafsterfte.nu and targeted communication with forest managers.
