Description

Multiple land uses are competing for the same space to address spatial challenges such as the renewable energy transition. Decisions about which land use will be located where are not only made based on efficiency, but also on value judgments of stakeholders on what is the most just solution. However, stakeholders have different ideas of what just planning means. This research aims to explore how different stakeholders’ understandings of justice affects planning procedures and outcomes. Serious gaming will be used as a method to make these differing understandings visible to aid in developing more just spatial planning procedures and outcomes.
