What could a shared sustainability dashboard look like that could be used in the Northwest European markets?

• Farmers work on sustainability, but compensation from the market does not always follow
• Looking only at the domestic market is too limited to realize sustainability
• There are sustainability initiatives in Europe, but they are scattered

Therefore, this project is working on a clear recognition of sustainably produced animal products on the Northwest European markets. It explores possibilities for a voluntary, harmonized sustainability dashboard with a wide support basis in Northwest European countries. This offers perspectives to farmers to increase the sustainability of their production, because a ‘sustainability plus’ can be recognized in both their own and surrounding countries. The research project therefore aims to learn from existing initiatives and explore the needs that market parties have concerning a harmonized sustainability dashboard for Northwest Europe.
