Integrated Nexus Framework (KB-33-005-009)

Wageningen Research has a wide range of socio-economic, biophysical and ecosystem models and frameworks to evaluate socio-economic and environmental problems. However, each framework or model from Wageningen Research defines its own system boundaries, drivers  and pressures to assess impacts of interventions or environmental change on the state of the environment and/or socio-economic development. The water-food-energy-ecology-nexus (WFEE nexus) requires an integral multi and inter disciplinary assessment framework to support decision  The objective is developing an integral multi and inter disciplinary assessment framework to support decision making in water-food-energy-ecology-nexus (WFEE nexus) related settings. This framework aims to support decision making about interventions by different stakeholders at different levels (spatial, administrative, etcetera) and quantifies their effect on the nexus domains (water, food, energy and ecosystems).
