Description
The Deltaprogramme Zuidwestelijke Delta works on a climate proof, ecological resilient and economically vital delta. With that particular goal it conducts long term investigations. The past year of this reconnaissance the target was to determine how to handle the effects of the expected climate change in relation to water safety and freh water availability (Deltaprogramma Zuidwestelijke Delta, 2013). To evaluate promising strategies for the Zuidwestelijke Delta, a number of measures will be examined.
Innovative concepts for dike constructions are seen by the Deltaprogramme as part of measures to optimise the present strategies among many possible other strategies.
